I have a linksys wireless g router, can i hook up my other desktop with a 802.11b adapter?

Probably. Most "g" routers are "b" compatible. Read the docs, it should explain it all.

Yes, but wireless-b devices max speed is 11Mbps and that is the max the g router will put out. If anyone else is connecting to the g- router and they have a g device. They will be forced to bare with the 11Mbps.

As far as using the internet it's no problem. You sacrifice performance when you go to move files. 11Mbps vs. 54 Mbps

yes...! Most of them supports but u will get the speed of b 11 Mb not 54 Mb as g provides.

it will work try detecting the hardware or try installing the link sys driver on 802.11 b device...
