I have often seen ppl saying they can access those websites blocked by etisalat(for no reason) bcoz they live in the freezone........

The previous answers explained what is freezone. but, why pplc can access the blocked site, becouse the Internet provider is Dubai Internet City not Etisalat. DIC currently provides only the freezones with the Internet service

Many countries have freezones...........for example the US can have manufacturing done there (ie; clothing) tax free
