I didn't know that.
I've loved Keanu since forever - and I'm totally aware that he is a terrible actor, (just watch Young Again,Dracula, Jonny Mnemonic etc and cringe with horror). But Matrix is a perfect vechicle for him as he has to act non-plussed - an emotion he has mastered and he played John Constantine in exactly the same way which was another good film.
Will Smith would also have been excellent and he has proven that he can act in 'serious' movies (Ali, I Robot) so he wouldn't have been out of his depth at all.

Will Smith is good, but Keanu is better in the Film. It was made for him.

I didn't know but I think keanu was great, bcz he's kindda dark and not in the "star system".In the matrix trilogy there was no major movie star and that was great

I might be the only one, but I really didn't like those movies. Maybe Will Smith (who I think is a wonderful actor) would have made them better, but I doubt it

yeah i knew that , i think it wud have given a slightly diff take on the film tho and did u know Helen Miriam turned down a part in the matrix too !

If they wanted to make the matrix a comedy it would have been good but would you have been able to watch Will without thinking when's the joke coming.

Didn't know that, but he would have made the whole thing a lot less po-faced - and maybe made the sequels watchable.
