Okay.
We live in semi-submerged earthen structures for efficiency and green electricty production is commonplace, but fossil fuels still are used to cover peak energy shortages.
We now wear our trouser legs coverings on our arms because the Earth is so goddamn hot.
Mexico and America have merged to become a mega-nation.
America is still home to the ultra-wealthy, but there no longer exists a middle-class, simply wealthy and poor. America is pretty much the same, only with double the population. SUV's have gas replaced by hydrogen so life pretty much is the same.
Gated communities are essential as the areas outside are crime ridden to the point of hopelessness. All emergency services are now pay on demand and so favour the wealthier areas.
Instead of trailer parks, there are massive tenements to house the cheap labour for the minority wealthy.
English and Spanish are now the two joint national languages.
The President is still a white male, but now he is Jewish as the financiers are predominantly want someone of similar interests and stature in power.
America is no longer a military superpower, but a major player nonetheless,
Canada still is white-bread.
China is a thriving engine of the economy as is India. Almost all manufacturing and computer programming is undertaken there.
China & India are also major food exporter and are military superpowers on a personnel par with America.
Japan is not only decades ahead of the rest of the world but has pioneered robotic replacements for worn/lost human limbs.
Japan is the uncontested nation of high-tech genius. It is also highly militarized, with a large force of robotic weapons and has returned to the centralized emperor government system. Japan defacto controls former countries now dependencies/colonies in South East Asia, as a buffer against Chinese aggression.
North & South Korea are united in name only- it makes far better financial sense to have all low paid work performed in the North. North Korea is actually quite prosperous.
Europe is now principally a financial and tourist destination. Britain, France and Germany all struggle from frequent social unrest between racial groups. Russia, Czechoslavakia and Poland are now moderately prosperous and stable.
Russia is the global arms supermarket.
Britain is still a monarchy, but has fallen from glamour into simply a tourist attraction. Germany's main opposition group is a Neo-Fascist group.
Australia has turned it's vast barren inland into a major fresh water reservoir from reclaimed sea-water for export to arid areas of the world. Drinkable water is now as commercially viable as oil was.
Antarctica has returned to its 2000 size after major flooding and destruction forced governments to act on global warming immediately and pump millions of tons of smoke into the atmosphere to temporarily darken and thus chill the earth back to normal temperatures.
The Arab nations and Israel are finally at peace after a major regional war. America had the sense to remain neutral and they all bombed each other into a treaty arrangement. Israel is now actually a major cluster of cities in a large pan-Arab-Jewish land called Sygypto-Jordania and is quite a pleasant place to be, with all religious disputes settled by uniting all under one country.
Iran and Iran are one massive Shiite Caliphate and the power of the region. Lesser nations still rely on oil for energy such as Africa and parts of Latin America and Asia.
Africa is a mixed bag, Nigeria is wealthy and rigorously defends its borders from immigration from the multitude of exceptionally poor nations. Famine, and disease are rife in these nations.
Wealthy Westerners and Asians have bought most of Tanzania, Zimbabwe and Kenya for private safari parks.
The population of Africa is actually the same as that of 2000, as the country had a massive series of famines and starvations along with the Aids epidemic that kept the population low.
Only in wealthy African countries such as those above and South Africa do Africans have a level of health coverage from aforesaid diseases, All others no ,longer rely on the UN as the UN has been disbanded due to financial constraints.
So there you have it- a future world view based on current events.

picture this in poster,
cities of concrete structures would have expanded in all directions ,forests denuded and shrunk in to tiny sinking dots of islands in an ocean . melted out polar ice caps no trace of it to figure (in poster ). vast volumes of ocean would have swallowed littoral human habitats , and so on.
optimistic passimists from Sydny, Sanghai Singapore or Seatle would be seen huddled around a Swamiji in the Himalayan hights and the stress management Guru would be giving the discources on how, fifty years from then(2106AD) humans would regret for what they did not do than what they did,in2006. ofcourse to prove a point he would be showing them a poor photograph of a helplessly swerving tiny earth like a little boat in the infinite ocean of galaxy. this picture of mother -earth, he would thunder , oh! global citizens, had been taken on moon by the apollo mission astronauts. and would add that ,his Vedant also taught him exactly the same story of Earth the epitome of endurance of the ultimate barbarian cruelties on it . it takes but everything with equanimity. And ceaseessly going round the sun. not worried a little. focus more on this dynamics of eternity-in poster ! in bold and emphatic grafitti. goodtime, bad time , all time, get over !!!

Unless some miracle happens, we will more and more of storms, as a result of the green house effect. Sweltering heat and the consequent storms and floods will be more frequent. There will be no let up in the global warming and the icebergs melting which will in turn result in floods. Many islands are likely to be submerged.
