for god's sake..no hun...dont smoke...do it for your baby..just dont....you must not smoke in pregnacy because all the fume and other stuff go to the baby's heart and organism and as a result, destroy it...please...dont smoke while you are pregnant...and even when you give birth, dont smoke close to the baby..its still bad...

I am going to say you should quit smokine totally. I am a smoker myself and when I was pregnant with my first child after I found out I quit within a week. Now that I am trying for my second child I am trying to work on quiting right now and then I am going to hopefully stay smoke-free after that. But I had a friend who smoked all the way through her pregnancy and when she went into labor there were a lot of complications. The mother was having breathing problems and had to be put on oxygen cause she was making herself sick and then the baby was having trouble breathing when he was born and she never got to hold him until 24 hours after he was born. I don't think you want you child taken away as soon as you have it because of complications. No mother wants to wait to hold that beautiful bundle of joy. So, just think long and hard about what you want at the end of the pregnancy when the child is about to arrive. If you want to be health and have a healthy baby then quit smoking and if you don't really care when then you shouldn't be pregnant right now. And don't forget I am a smoker myself. If it means enough to you to quit smoking for the health of you and your child then it shouldn't be to hard. Just get through the first day or so and you will be fine and limit who you are around who smokes and ask them not to smoke around you. Good luck and I hope all goes well! Have a happy holiday season and wonderful new year!

It would be my suggestion to quit smoking while you are pregnant. It's so sad to see pregnant women smoke. It kind of gives me the feeling that they are being selfish. It's not just the woman anymore. That woman is carrying a little being inside of her. Think of it this way....after your baby is born, would you light a cigarette and put it in the baby's mouth?

The girl may have told you that because the doctor may have been trying to wean her off of cigarettes. I quit cold turkey when I found out that I was pregnant. It just meant more to me that my baby was healthy than to have that nicotine fix. It's hard at first, but you will feel so much better than if you didn't.

Why chance it?????? I smoked cig's and marijuana UNTIL I found out I became pregnant then - EVERYTHING stopped. IF you dont love you baby enough to quit, then your not fit to be a parent. Ive never smoked ever since, I did it for the benefit of my son and it benefited me as well

It has been proved, smoking anything causes smaller babies. Among unlimited other effects on the baby. Do you want to look at your baby when he/she is born, and wonder is this a result of my smoking while I was pregnant or not? I couldn't. There's enough risk out there already without adding another contributor's.

Yes stop unless you want your baby to have a low birth weight and possible complications down the road. Your friend probably shopped around until she found a doctor that would let her do whatever she wanted. Stop smoking for your baby if you love it.

Well, with present facts on the net, I would say stop all together. Still with even a small amount of smoke, this is still being absorbed by the baby.

If I were you, I would type "pregnant and smoking?" into Google instead of feeding myself like a sacrificial lamb to the yahoo people who are going to eat you alive for this question.
That being said, it's really in your babies' best interest to quit for the duration of your pregnancy at least.
Best of luck!
