Everyone seems to go crazy over the Crimbo period and always buy twice as much as you need - myself included! What goodies are you getting for over the festive period?

My Brother and sister in law are doing it all, so only a bit of sweets and a Christmas cake for myself. Being young, dashing, single, skinned due to tuition bills, and having a handsome face that says "feed me, please" has its benefits. Well three out of four isn't bad...
I did offer to buy things, but they gave me the usual "no thanks." Paybacks may come New Year's though. At least that's what I am planning.

We're going to the Queen Vic Market in Melbourne in an hour or so, and we were planning oysters, steak and prawns for the barbie, some fizzy white wine and lots of fruit, some good cheese and a few chocs. But it has got cold and started to rain (this is good, bushfires out of control, drought worsening) but has buggered up our plans to sit around the pool throwing animal parts on the barbie. I know you will all be weeping into your chardonnay, won't you ? Have a lovely time, whatever you're eating.

A great way not to have all those leftovers from the christmas turkey is to make your own from rashers of streaky bacon laid onto turkey foil, lay turkey breasts on top then stuffing and roll it all up cook it in the foil until the juices run clear then unwrap it and let the bacon crisp up. mmm and no left over bones or anything!

Ingredients for Banana Pudding, potato salad, Millionaire pie and that's about it. We have a huge family and each person brings one or two dishes. These are the most requested dishes for me to bring.
