Yes your body is preparing itself for labour. The pain or aching in your pelvic area is a sign that your baby's head is moving down into the pelvic region. The pain in your head, your nausea and diorreah can be caused by horrmone levels changing due to the onset of early labor. If your pain gets any worse, if you think your bags of water breakes, you have decreased fetal movement, or get a fever of 100.0 contact your doctor as soon as possible. But relax, your body will let you know what to do and soon you will have brought a new beautiful baby into the world. Relax,Rest Up,and Good Luck

For me the big give away was when the pain went away. I'd been having practice contractions and pains for a few days but when you have a contraction which a pain and then the pain disappears with the contraction as if it had never been there. You are on your way.

Diarhea is quite common just before the onset of labour. With one of mine my waters broke but not the other.

Good luck, in an event it won't be long! (my youngest was a Christmas baby, 29th dec, best christmas present I ever had.)

What does your doctor say? Isn't 42 weeks full term? I'm not sure. Dialation and thinning of cervix wall are good signs. If this is your first child enjoy these last days before baby is born. This is a wonderful transition. Women to mother. Ponder on your new relationship to come. Rest so you can fully love your child. Get charged up--soon you get to hold that precious child in your arms. And there is nothing like it when they look into your eyes with love, trust, adoration. It can only melt your heart. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

I had this same thing when i went into labour with my twins no pain just mucus. I was actually told i had to stay in hospital until i had them because of the risk of infection. I dont want to alarm you but i have had 5 children and i think you should go to hospital or your dr to tell them whats going on.
Just based on what you have said and in my experience that is my opinion.

I would call the dr. my pain was like the pain i had when i was on my period. so yes, you could be in the start of labor. but call your dr. now and tell him to be sure.
