If your a parent: Invest in a parental block or just disconnect from the Internet all together.

If your the person/or friend the first step is admitting you or they have a problem and going from their. It's about setting priorities and unless you or they want to overcome the addiction it is going to be a bumpy ride!

I'm a real TV/internet addict so when I was in school I would set boundaries. I would go to the library right after class and do homework/ study and tell myself I couldn't leave or do anything else until I was done with that day's work, then I would reward myself with some online time.

It worked out extremely well, I graduated in the top of my class :)

Then schedule time for those things you like. Set a timer and stck to it. If you can't discipline yourself, yes I'm afraid you have to avoid it all together. Good job recognizing your real priorities and that this can be a hinderance to you. Hang in there.

If you're a parent- it is you who should be setting stricter boundaries and enforcing set rules with unwavering consequences.
Otherwise, you need to turn off the power and steal the monitor cable and only let them watch it after they've completed all of their important tasks.

Better find some self discipline and just stop... (like I'm on my way to the kitchen to make lunch)!

Block the site...
