I'm a dark Nubian queen, and I think Halle is very beautiful (i've seen better, even with shaved head), but, I agree that the media is helping maintain that mentality of lighter is beautiful, even in 'black' magazines. Has anyone ever seen a dark celebrity get half the attention that Halle gets? I doubt it. Also, the one drop rule still applies, that is, if you have one drop of black blood, no matter how much white you have/are, you are still considered black. Growing up in Africa, I know too many coconuts and teabags, the color thing does not make you black, its more than that. She appeals mostly to white men, I think, not the black boys. I hope a non-black person tries to answer your question.

I agree that the media often plays a part in who people perceive to be attractive or not, but i disagree that they intentionally present a white over black attitude.
In terms of celebrities. i personally think Halle is a beautiful woman, but not because she's half-white, i just think she's good looking, talented and seemingly down-to-earth. But there are numerous other women, like Vivica Fox, Gabrielle Union, Naomi Campbell, who are not half-white and are successful and just as beautiful as Halle.
I don't think their skin complexion is really an issue in terms of their beauty.

I don't know why you would think that Halle Berry is only pretty because she is half-white, I am white and I happen to think she is beautiful because she is half-black. So I guess you could say that beauty is in the eye of the beholder....You are definitely right about one thing, there are numerous beautiful actresses, actors and models that are all black....and believe me we know it and I for one, notice it....so please don't generalize....otherwise you are just as guilty of the racism as the good old white folks.
Just be happy with yourself and enjoy life the way God wanted all of us to....maybe someday people will finally see that we are more than just the color of our skin....

Its like this - you are a female. I am a male. I think Halle Berry is a babe and a half, and not because she is half-white, simply because she is. And if you think the media presents the mentality that black is bad and white is right you must be watching different media than I am. The media tends to "bend over backwards" to prevent this. There are good people and bad people of every color.

As far as I know, the Jews control the media, at least in this country (I live in the U.S.).
Last time I checked, I don`t think the Jews are that bothered about African-Americans or Caribbean-Americans who are half-white or half-black or a third green, yellow or blue!
Halle Berry is beautiful.
And so are plenty of other people with significantly darker skin tones than her.
If you are a heterosexual guy and Halle came up to you and asked you out, I seriously doubt that you would turn her down, am I right?
Unless she did that right in front of your wife or girlfriend maybe.
What I would like to know is why do people always have to bring up the skin color issue?
When are people going to realize that we are all the same underneath, no matter what our skin tone looks like?
And to answer you question, dark can and is beautiful.
End of discussion.

I'm a woman and I don't think that it can be disputed successfully, Halle Berry is one of the most beautiful women on this planet. As is Vanessa Williams and Angela Basset.
I think you are more hung up on the media-race issue than anything else. Quit picking on Halle.

I think she is pretty nice and although she appears at least 60% white she is still called black. Anyway I also agree that there are darker women who are more attractive than she is. But I also hear that in the black community lighter blacks are considered more attractive than darker blacks. I don't know for sure but its just like that.
But I do personally think that white girls are on average better looking but thats just my taste.

This gown would both be semi-state-of-the-artwork or basic Jane. it actual relies upon on the girl and if she will be able to carry it off with upload-ons to be more beneficial than a gown by myself. I also imagine , Halle ought to carry this off inclusive of her complexion. i love it! almost any woman with a experience of style ought to carry this off. i imagine it may look large on ya! ~

You know why! It is going to take a long time before white folks embrace true black beauty. If ever.
