the problem is that we now want to take the next step but it would mean bringing two very different cultures and families together i am african and she is philipino. we love each other so much and ours is testimony that love knows no distance and bariesrs. but our families don't share our dreams. we want to get married next year but we can't leave our families out.please help with practical answers too.

Try toTalk to your family seriously. Tell them about your feelings and l am sure they will help you. At the end they are your family and they are the only one will be with u in all your situations

You don't marry a person you marry a family. You two need to take some time to get to know each others families. Be patient it may take some time to be accepted.

Live your life for you not for you family....if they cannot accept her then THEY choose not to be part of your life. If you find someone who truly makes you happy and have a healthy relationship then grab that opportunity to have a healthy happy marriage.
