This could be a lot of things...

But the main suggestion is to go into your account settings and see if you can change the display width.

You *shouldn't* be having this problem except with e-mails containing long links / sentences with no spaces. The e-mail program / web browser doesn't know where to break the link / word so it doesn't.

On a tangent - if you're using Firefox / Thunderbird there are ways to stop this from happening. IE / Outlook have no way to adjust it, so you're stuck.

Usually easy to fix but you have to say what email service you are using as they are different.
