The world may end in several billion years time, but I imagine that the end will be the beginning. You will hear a sound (if you are about) like a 'poof' of gas blowing out a match, everything will go dark for approximately a millionth of a second and there will be a perfect 'nowhere-void' created. After this there will be another 'poof' sound and the lights will go on again (this second poof sound, scientists like to call the 'big-bang',) then a few hundred million years later you will find yourself sitting at a computer terminal asking 'how is it going to end?' This may not be a wholly accurate account, as I am not a physicist, only an artist, but I'm sure I've got the order correct.

"Many Christian fundamentalists feel that concern for the future of our planet is irrelevant, because it has no future. They believe we are living in the End Time, when the son of God will return, the righteous will enter heaven, and sinners will be condemned to eternal hellfire. They may also believe, along with millions of other Christian fundamentalists, that environmental destruction is not only to be disregarded but actually welcomed -- even hastened -- as a sign of the coming Apocalypse"
