I always thought it would be better to exercise in the evening just as it would be better to eat a heavier meal earlier in the day and a lighter one later. This seems to make sense since the longer you are awake the more calories you burn, so for the heavier meal you would want it to be earlier to optimize your energy burning. It would seem more reasonable to exercise later since you would have more calories and energy to burn and since its later in the day you would have more time to do it.
Maybe people exercise early becuase it wakes them up? I know if I exercise before bed I can't sleep, so this might be it.

Yes. Because I have to.
I want to get the added boost to fat burn by doing cardio on an empty stomach, so I do my weights and cardio before I have my first meal in the morning... my gym time is 5-7AM.
I hate mornings, but I do what I have to.

Yeah, I walk about 20 metres to my car parked in my garage every morning - what a workout!
When I'm on the road, my arms get a good workout as well - in particular, my middle finger!

No. And I'm making a very big mistake. I should continue with my intense physiotherapy. But going through a painful divorce is clouding my judgement. I must get my priorities right. Health must come first.
