All but one of the answers are wrong. The song at no 1 on that date (week ENDING 28th January) was " Something's Got Hold Of My Heart " by Marc Almond and Gene Pitney. Kylie and Jason song was no 1 the week before.

On the 23rd Jan 1989 Ja-son Donovan & Kylie Minogue Where at no1 with Especially For You, They were popular co-stars in an Aussie soap, and this duet from the Stock, Aitken & Waterman team grabbed the Xmas/New Year sales.

Kylie Minogue & Jason Donovan, 'Especially For You' was the 621st official number one. It went to number one on 7 January 1989. Replaced by Marc Almond with Gene Pitney, 'Something's Gotten Hold Of My Heart' on 28 January.
