Because they have not failed in their goals, and thats because they don't even have goals. They are still innocent.

A suicidal person is somehow an egoistic person. It sounds contradictory but its true. He wants everything in life, he needs everything, and when that fails he would start thinking of suicide.

When I was a kid and believed in God and heaven, I thought if it's so great that I should kill myself to get there. At that time I didn't even have the notion that suicide was wrong, I'm not sure I had ever even heard of it before.

But there are lots of reasons kids and adults think of things.

A kid in my school committed suicide when he was about 8 years old. Apparently they do. Maybe they just don't tell anyone about their thoughts.
