Which hand or foot, and why? For the sake of argument, lets say that the actual act wouldn't cause any pain.

it would definately be my foot, u cant grab things with your feet and you can always get a prostetic foot that you can walk on. Hands are not so easy to replicate

Technically you wouldn't, as decapitation is removal of the head!
If I had to choose between amputation of a foot or an hand, I think I'd choose my left hand. That way I could still walk, drive, type, write in fact do pretty much every thing I do now, just maybe a bit slower!

Technically, the word is amputate. Decapitate means your head always.
Either way, you'd totally have the pirate thing down for halloween every year.
but without a hand, I could have a bucket instead, You know, for like, dumping oatmeal on stuff...and like, dropping the occasional beat...and also, I could sit on it when I get tired. Or I could have a bullhorn so everyone could hear all the important stuff I gotta say. Or maybe I could have a guitar or laser gun.

Foot, it can be replaced by a fake one and would not be as noticeable as a hand replacement.
Also, I can't imagine any hand replacement being as flexible and useful as my real hand whereas a foot replacement would be pretty much the same.

Easy choice. My hand. I have actually thought of doing this voluntarily so I could have many hand attachments like a hook, or a metal fist, or a long blade, or maybe even a machine gun attachment.

At this exact moment in time, it would be my foot. I stepped on a little shard of broken glass in the kitchen yesterday and it bloody hurts like hell!
