is it me or is the fact the some people blast "music" from their cars as they drive past really irritating?

I find it highly annoying too, except in the RARE instances where they may be playing some music I like. But for the most part it's that annoying, awful "BOOM CHUKA LUCKA BOOM BOOM CHUCKA LUCKA!!" Makes me want to blast something they would hate really loud, like Barry Manilow or Michael Bolton!

Infuriating and so selfish! This mentality of "I am alright, Jack, within the shell of my car, and you idiots on the roadside or in another car just have to put up with my noise pollution" is really sad.
What is even sadder is that the people who do it are actually damaging their hearing and will end up with severe problems when they get older.Of course they are too immature to admit this is true :"It wont happen to ME", but it is a recognised medical fact and I know quite a few relatively young people who now have to wear hearing aids as a result of having continuous loud music blasting their eardrums in cars.

I saw a classic the other day, a chav walking on his own through town with 'music' blasting out of a mobile phone. It was almost car stereo loud. What the hell is he thinking?! I know what everyone else was. Someone said these turnips want attention, this one wanted psychiatric attention.

I do play my music in my car pretty loud, but its not like I have a banging stereo or anything. Also, its much more likely to be the Kids from Fame or Take That than anything too irritating.
Its all macho posturing and things isn't it. Look how loud/tall/fast/expensive I can be. Rubbish!

hmm well i disagree. i would be a person that would drive past you with my music as loud as i can get it. witch i race car's pimp out cars and all that and i allways thought the music would be something you wouldnt wanna forget when your pimping out a car. anyways i live in oklahoma some towns have signs asking people to turn there music down and i respect that. nothing wrong with loud music just gotta know when to blast it peace out.

irritating. i hate it when they do it at 3 in the morning or it seems like everytime i put the baby to sleep some jack butt comes by blarring his radio. i can hear it even with the windows close and the ones with the loud bass speakers are the worse. mayeb i should shoot their care with a paintball gun when they go by.

I HATE it! Have you ever noticed that people who play their "music" really loud also have their windows open? Clear to me that they are trying to annoy people deliberately. It's also usually the same kind of bass laden dross. If you want to listen to it in your car, that's just fine - but don't make me listen to it as well!

I'm sure it is annoying, but if one has a car with a massive music system, I'm sure most people would want to crank it up, regardless of how annoying or uncool it is.

Depends what music they are blasting out!!
If its dance music then yes but if its rock then it would not bother me.

What always worries me is that it always seems to be the same moroninc TUNE they are playing!!!
They do it to get attention. But you don't see too many GIRLS in those cars, now do you.
PS- on the same subject- do any young ladies actually ADMIRE noisy exhaust pipes?
