Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet weren't in Poseidon, they were in Titanic. In Titanic, I suppose they fell in love because Kate Winslet wasn't used to the kind of person that DiCaprio was (lower class, not bound by rules, etc.), and he gave her a feeling of freedom that she wasn't used to. Plus Brendan Frasier, the guy who was courting her, was a real dick.
EDIT: Oops, it was Billy Zane, my bad.
Poseidon, I believe, was a remake of the movie The Poseidon Adventure, about a cruise ship that capsized and the journey of some of the survivors to freedom.

wtf? You are talking about two different movies. Titanic is the movie you speak of, not Poseidon. Jack fell in love with Rose because she was beautiful and different and free spirited he coud see that in her right away. She was desparate for something in her dreary rich-girl life to change, and he saved her from trying to jump off the back of the ship.
btw, see the original Poseidon Adventure, it's much better than the remake.

On Titanic he fell for her the first time he saw her on the upper deck. Later on he saved her life when she wanted to jump off the boat and they became friends. They talked about spitting and drawing and some other things. Then he had dinner with her family. He invited her dancing. She didn't want to see him again because of her family. But he stole a coat and snuck up the upper deck to see her and profess his love to her.

it was Titanic and it was not Brendan Frasier in that movie that was her beau it was Billy Zane and he was being an over controlling jerk Leo's character i think fell for at first sight
