Not only was he not killed by dogs in this movie, because he wasn't in it, but I believe he was never killed in any movie by dogs. Plus no one was killed by dogs in that movie.

You obviously weren't paying attention. The dogs were cursed by the black pearl, so they were Slitheran dogs. Duh!
