NORMAL.
Breastmilk is a natural laxative. Exclusively breastfed babies don't get constipated. Also, it's not constipation just because they don't go.....it's constipation if they have dry, hard, formed BM's that are difficult to pass.
It's normal for breastfed babies to start skipping days around 4-6 weeks or so. It's because there really is very little waste with breastmilk. They are using up all the nutrients in their food. Some breastfed babies only go once a week and it's fine and normal. (But LOOK OUT when they do go!)

If BM means bowel movement. My children were breastfed and at times didn't have a movment for a few days, it did bother me so I went and seen a doctor and also spoke to the clinic nurse. They both told me that breast fed infants very rarely get constipated, and that it is normal for babies to go a few days without a movement.
I am not saying to leave it unchecked, when it comes to babies I think that they should always be checked out.

Hi , First accept my heartiest wishes for your baby . More so since I am also a father of baby girl about 4 months old . May god bless u and your girl .
Now one direct thought which comes to the mind is upset stomach . -
1.Apply pasted "heeng" on her stomach . Take care that this paste does not touch her navel .
2. Keep her flat on her back and cross her legs such that her left heel touches her right shoulder and so on for her right leg .
3. If situation still doesn't improve give her "COLIC AID" about 5-6 drops . A more stronger version is COLIC MEX but start with aid only and u can try Mex if there is no improvement .
Also check in case she has taken cold . In that case heat Garlic and "ajwaain" in mustard oil and massage her .
And take heart , it's nothing very serious . By the way my daughter once didn't pass stools for 4 days . It's perfectly normal for babies not to pass stool for 2 - 3 days .
Take care .

Are diapers wet? If no bm or urine... I would call your Dr. asap. she may be dehydrated. Doesn't take long for tiny ones.
If she has many Wet diapers (i dont remember # they consider normal. probably one for each feeding ?) I wouldnt panic... just yet..
is she uncomfortable? My youngest had alot of issues with bm from early on. We ended up giving him apple/prune juice w/ distilled water. 1oz each. a couple of times a day. He was probably 3 or 4 months.
IF she is not fussy, and you are certain she is getting enough to eat, everlything is likely fine. Everyone has their own schedule, and she may be normal for her. (thats what dr kept telling me!)
CALL YOUR PED before you take any advice you may receive here. I am not a doctor and I dont think putitng your brand new babys health into just anyones hands would be wise.
Good luck... and congratulations on your new baby!

Don't worry, that is totally normal for a fully breast fed baby. My first baby went three days without a bowel motion but when she did finally have one it was HUGE! If she goes longer than a week then I would probably consider mentioning it to a doctor or health nurse especially if she is showing signs of being in pain (excessive crying/screaming) Otherwise don't panic.

Consult her Doctor ASAP if she hasn't had a bm in time since you posted this query. Let the doctor check her out for possible constipation and/or other problems. Good Luck!
