Ok I see both sides of this. I don't have any kids of my own, but I raised my little brother and you better belive he got spanked. When my parents spanked me I learned damn fast. On the other hand if she is honest to god being abused then you should do something. Just remember that these days there is a very fine line between abuse and discipline. I suggest before you jump to conclusions about her getting beat you figure out what's really going on. Just because she is 16 and getting spanked doesn't necessarily mean it is abuse. My best friend didn't stop getting spanked until she was about 16, her parents weren't abusive they just didn't take her crap.

id say stay out of it. if he is actually beating her, like punching her and being abusive that is one thing, but if it was an expression for saying he was going to punish her, its completely different, if my 16 year old had an attitude with me, id still punish her, or she can get out of my house. people who report spanking and the such as abuse make it impossible to discipline children, and thus why children are going out blowing up schools, hitting their parents and getting pregnant at age 13. they have no structure. i had a belt taken to me a couple of times, it never did physical or emotional damage, it just made me be respectful to my parents who were supporting me. if her life is in danger, report it, if she is getting punished for something she really seriously did wrong, leave it alone.

Words are not always real. Just be patient and wait, afterall he is a father with all the affection and love to his daughter. Most of the cases it would be only a warning to frighten the girl to behave herself . In case you notice that he is actually belting his daughter and that to violently then you can think about complaing etc, etc.

You should contact child protective services. I work for a major police dept and my spouse is in child protection. Many states, such as Indiana, are a mandatory reporting state. Which means that every citizen is obligated to report suspected child abuse or neglect. I hope you will call your state Child protective service and make a report. The CPS will investigate and see if the child is in any danger.

Mind your own business. This is not a matter for you and your bible thumping patrol. Maybe if you see it or hear it, then you and the christ rollers can intervine. Until then don't do anything or you may end up shot on your front lawn, or wake up with a knife in your head. It comes down to the fact that its none of your damn business how someone else decides how to dole out punishment to his own kids.

Maybe if more parents kicked their kids asses when they got into trouble instead of trying to reason with them, the kids would not grow into irresponsible adults. I don't say beat them , but punish and smack them on the ***..GO for it..Good for that Dad!!!! I am so sick of being told it is wrong to spank our kids. Their is a difference between discipline and abuse. So mind your own business. If my kids talks back to me..I will smack them too..And if DSS thinks they can do better..GO FOR IT!!! lol(I love my kids by the way)

Call DSS (Dept. of Social Services) or Have your minister talk to him. Try and befriend his daughter. It could be your imagination but she could be a abuse victim. 16 yrs old and still getting beatings does not sound right.

call social services on him or something but try not to get too involved. If he can beat a 16 yr old girl he can beat you too if you get too involved

Mind your own business.

He might have been just talking; but you being the nosy and intrusive person that you are may very well make the situation worse for her instead of helping.

If you can figure out if the girl do bad stuff and she is disobeying her parents, then she deserves it. If it is net necessary then you should go speak to someone who can do something about it. GOOD LUCK
