im a very cheerful, social, friendly person.. but i have this weird habit of liking to keep my bedroom dark when it's sunny outside, for example when im on the PC.. and my parents seem to find this really weird and can't understand why i do it.. i guess it's just that i like the cosiness and the warm feeling of it all... tell me what do you think of that ?

first of all, weirdness is a relative term.
if u do it and ur parents dont, they find u acting weird and vice versa. now that you know so many people who like staying in a dark room during the day (including me!), you can be a lot more convinced that you aren't "weird" at all!! on the other hand, when ur parents read this, they'll be surprised to see a lot of "weird" people! the word is psychologically incorrect in the context and yes, smile away all ur worries and stay in ur dark, cosy place!

ofcourse, u let in light when u need light, like for reading and all.. it's just that being on pc or simply sitting or thinking about something does not require flooding of light!!

It's not weird, some people find it rather comfortable and peacefull to sit in the dark. Some people function better when not under hot lights. Still there are others that have photophobia or sensitivity to light. For those people that feel they must be bathed in some sort of light, let them go to their room where they can waste energy and run up the electricity bill :)

For more info on Photophobia see link below

I work at night so I have to have a dark room to sleep during the day. My husband takes care of the kids. I don't think it's weird for you so don't feel strange.

I had a friend who had Scotopia, where she didn't really like bright lights and prefered dimmed rooms - no matter what the weather. She also prefered to wear sunglasses and not read things from bright white paper (instead preferring cream paper).

Its nothing to worry about, just a preference of your eyes to dimmer environments.

When I'm at work, I like to sit with the lights dimmed, but I'm not allowed. You're fine as you are. Do you suffer with headaches? Sometimes dim light helps with those.

No, it's not weird since i do it all the time. My toes take like pickles. Look at that monkey on the wall. Crazies paint red objects black. Where are my gloves. I'm not weird.
