Take the word light. It not only has many different meanings, but different spellings. Ex; light a candle (flame), light as a feather(weight), lite beer(low calorie), light bulb(illumination), she touched it lightly (soft/careful), the bird lighted upon the branch(landed), light hearted(happy/jovial). That's just one example of a word that has multiple meaning with different spellings. Can you'all give me some more?

You only give two different spellings. The others simply have been conjugated, and 'lite' is more marketing than proper English. (like Darque tan - the tanning salon) Also, you are using light with another word in many instances, ie light bulb and light hearted. What's the confusion, you seem to spell and have better grammar than 90% of the people who post questions in this forum.

By using the 'rules' of English, you can spell fish 'ghoti'. The 'gh' sound is from the word enouGH. The 'o' sound is from the word wOmen. And the 'ti' sound is from the word naTIon. You're totally right about English, although your example with the bird is incorrect. It would have to be 'the bird alighted upon a branch'.
