I have actually slept outside on several occasions when I've been on holiday abroad, and I thought it was cool. kind of a survival instinct thing. Is that weird?

All you are trying to do is to reassure yourself that you can live your life, and it's not too hard or too scary.

Then by all means... Don't let nature stop you.... Just do what is right... and the moment things don't go the way you feel they should, then consider saving some money for such a purpose, that being so that it wont be too difficult to pick up where you left off.....

What is unavoidable hardship and compulsion for the poor is adventurous freaking out for the rich and comfortable!! Quite normal to be curious about the other side, nothing weird at all!!!

go ahead.
unlike real street people,
your experiences will always be shadowed by the reality of you having an "out".
i.e. when you get tired of playing, you can go home
it gives you a whole different mind-set
than what reality is
for those who live on the street
but,
do it, anyway.
even in a small, controlled, safe dose,
it's a commendable way to learn about another part of our brotherhood.

Nope not weird at all.
Have you thought what your underlying desire to do so stems from? Is it to be free from societies mores? I know of many people who have this desire. So, what is keeping you from doing it if it calls to you?
