I think the real question is, "could you live long enough in the void of space to produce a scream?"
The fact of the matter is, sound travels by vibrating molecules in the air, one molecule moves another, so on and so forth. This is the reason that the speed of sound is different at different altitudes.
In space, it is a known fact that a vacuum exists. There are no air molecules to translate sound. If a sound could be heard, it would be at a very short distance around an object that has a significant amount of mass.

True - sound needs a media (liquid, gas, solid) to be transmitted from point 1 to point 2.
Assuming, theoretically that you can exist without life-support apparatus in space, you still cannot hear yourself since firstly you need air in the voicebox in order to create speech or any sound, and secondly, air in the ear canal to pass the sound to the ear-drum, etc. This is a lay-man's explanation without scientific terms but I'm pretty sure that the overall argument is correct.

I'm going to say yes. And this is why. Space is a vacuum as such there is nothing for the sound waves to travel on. Your ears are filled with fluid. In a vacuum you will hear the beating of your heart in your ears. I'm certain that the resonance from air traveling across your vocal chords will cause the reciprocal resonance in your sinus cavities as well as the timpanic membranes in your ears.
Unfortunately this will be occurring as you asphyxiate and die so you won't be able to tell anyone about it. sorry.

For one to be "in space", one must be sent in a capsule or craft. If this is what you are referring to, as space is actually all around us. If you are talking about a spacewalk, and something should go wrong, as did once with an astronaut who is orbiting somewhere out there, Russian I believe, then your own scream would be heard as long as 1. you were able to do this prior to losing oxygen (you become disorientated with increase of carbon dioxide)... and 2. you really wanted to waste your last breath screaming.

I think you only would in your head like you would "hear" your scream as a thought instead of a proper sound. But unless you spend millions of dollars to go into space you will never know.

theoretically you would be able to hear yourself scream, albeit a brief amount of time, since sound does transmit through water, and your body is made mostly of water, and both your vocal cords and your ear drum are connected to your body. Though if you had any air in your lungs to try to scream with it would instantly be forced out, so you would have little time to scream. (i am assuming you have no space-suit on...)
unfortunately there is no reliable way to test this, as anyone who could try would likely die doing so, and would be unable to communicate their findings, since you could not hear them screaming it.

Space is a vacuum. In a vacuum, sound does not travel anywhere. Even the distance between your mouth and ears can't be traveled. If you took off your protective equipment in space, you would automatically die. Only in your helmet could you hear yourself, because you are in a non-vacuum environment.

Probably not. Your entire body would decompress causing you to slice open from every inch of your body. Assuming you could scream, there wouldn't be enough air leaving your lungs to pass the sound waves back to your ear canal. And that's assuming your fart doesn't rocket you crashing into the moon before you can even try.

If you are in outer space you cannot scream either. Space is a vacuum and it will suck the air out of your lungs and make it impossible to scream!
