married life is what you make of it...marriage is work..hard work.. the best thing i can tell you is to never let it get boaring...communications and sex (not trying to be funny) is the most important things...money is not as important as a lot of families make it out to be....just trust each other and always be honest with each other and you will live a happy life..i know cause this is all the things that i didn't do and i am 23 and my marriage lasted 2 years....but the good thing is that i figured this out while i am young...and it took someone else to show me that and now i love him with all my heart and could not be happier...but remember that everything happens for a reason... good luck

I'm 44 and single, so my answer comes from looking at the lives of married friends and my brother.
Everyone has lots of problems, sometimes minor, usually serious. Usually it is because the wife has a lot of problems, sometimes the kids have problems also. Usually the wife spends money that the family doesn't have, she is mentally unstable, or both. Most of the married couples I know are somewhat happy and stay together. The main thinking keeping most couples together is the children.

Now that you have seen all the responses above mine...
Married life is what you choose to make out of it...
Everything is a choice in life.
You set your standards and you live by them.
Being married is like having a flat mate. You have to be tolerant of someone else bad habits (according to you).

It depends upon the country and soceity you live in. In any case married life brings a U turn in your life making you to start from Pre-KG of your life.
Which means a lot more to learn, some times its a trouble some times its a plesure.
When you deliver the kids and find them calling you pop/mom you know the life, how sweet it is. There you get the degree.

Married life should be the same as dating, but without the fear. Try to romance eachother, always. Most people get married and get lazy.

I've always found that a 2x4 up-side the head gets their attention pretty fast. Seriously, men need shaking up every now and then - leave him with the toddler on Sat morning and go spend the day out - by sat evening, he'll be begging you to come home.

Ideally, a partnership, a bond that can't be broken, the person that makes you so happy you couldn't imagine life without them. Someone to share your hopes and dreams and everyday battles and victories with. Realistically, often the exact opposite of what I described.
