Have you ever heard of a band called Hazy Fantazy?

My parents loved them, they had an album called 'Battle Hymns for Children singing', After lending the album to some friends, they never got it back again. All I remember about them was a song, Shiney, I think it was called. I would like to know where I might get a hold of any album they may have released. To help your memory this song went like this
Shiney shiney, sat down behind me
Shiney shiney,
Sha nah nah nah.
Hee hee, that's all I can recall!!!

The correct spelling of the name is Haysi Fantayzee. 1982 was their year. The best year for pop music after 1981. Their first and biggest hit was "John Wayne is a Big Leggy" and that got to number 11. The next single Holy Joe didn't make the Top 40 and the album which you have remembered correctly bombed just in time for Xmas. They did manage another hit in the dead January of 1983 and it's the one you remember "Shiny Shiny" and that got to number 16.
The album was reissued a few years ago with extra tracks but finding it now is a problem. My advice is wait for it will be reissued again. These things always are. It had top production work from Tony Visconti just fresh from Bowie and the Langer/Winstanley team who seemed to produce everything that year [Madness, Dexy's, Costello]
Google Haysi Fantayzee and you'll find loads of info. The old videos are even on U tube. Fantastic. You can preview the album on mp3.com just type in the name then click on songs. And the moral of this story is never ever lend anything especially if it is your Haysi Fantayzee album. You'll never get it back. It's too good.
