I understand your frustration. I spent too much of my life in denial. Just couldn't find any reason to believe. All I can tell you is that He is what He claims to be. He found me, I didn't seek Him out.
I was working out of town and alone in a motel with nothing on TV and nothing else to kill time. I ran across the motel Bible, opened it and read whatever page it opened to. It was telling how to pray -I have never found that passage since-, it was not the Lords prayer. I, out of boredom, thought for a while and followed the instruction asking for the only problem I knew a person had at the time. I really, really, really did not like that person.
After the two week assignment, I went home and had totally forgotten about that night. You guessed it. They person was totally healed. He had been doctoring a serious wound that would not heal for around a year. When I saw it, I was almost afraid. The ficticious prayer in the motel room came back in a flash and I didn't have time to contemplate anything; He was so close to me that it was as if I could reach out and touch Him. I understood things that I never read or was taught. I could talk to Him -no He did not respond verbally, but He responded. I was around the age of 25 and 35 years later, He is still with me.
One has to find Him for ones self. That is why it is so difficult for people to believe. Ya just can't reach out and shake His hand physically.
If you really want to know, read and talk to Him in whatever way you want. He will either respond to you immediately or at some time when you are least expecting Him.
I still sometimes question my belief, but the year or so that I spent so close to Him reminds me that He is Alive and well.
Even scientists say that the discoveries relating to evolution point to the need for a creator to have caused the "beginning". Science can come up with therories but in the end, it leads back to The Creator.
Yes God exists. I hope you find Him. Life is not easy, but it is easier now that I know how it all ends. I read the book, He wins.
