I'd really like to get one, so I can go to meet a special person in the Philippines. I asked this question before, but I was told to get it from my parents. My parents don't have i. It's at my bnirth hospital, but I am no where near there & have no way to get it. Is there another way to get it without a birth certifercate? I was born in Oregon & live in Hawaii

You can order a copy of your birth certificate from the Oregon Center for Health Statistics online at: http://www.oregon.gov/DHS/ph/chs/order/index.shtml

You should be able to get it within 10-14 days or less.

Find out the name of the County you were born in, get someone to tell you. Then, see if they have a website (that county), or call them. This is a vital record. You can obtain it from the county of your birth.
Then, use it to get your passport. You won't be able to get the passport without the birth certificate and a state issued ID.

You can write to or call the town hall where you were born, they will have the information you need to get one. I had to get one sent to me once. I think I got a form from them. It is probably available on-line now days. You may need to get this notarized. Then you send it in to get a new birth certificate sent to you.
