Is it legal to post links to someones website without there permission?
what i mean is, if you post a picture from someones web site without there permission that is considered stealing, but is it considered stealing to post a link to the website that the picture is on? and is there a law against it?

not just site with pictures but any site, is it for example is it legal to post a link to a site with just writing?

Since the link is not copyrighted material, and actually increases the traffic to the target site, it is a form of free advertisement rather than copyright infringement.

If you post a link to a picture at another site, you're stealing their bandwidth. If you post a link to the site, however, you're directing traffic to their site, so I wouldn't call it stealing.
