If you're using Windows XP, go to Start Menu > Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Character Map
Then just find whatever symbol you want to use, press copy, then on your webpage or whatever, hit Ctrl +V (or right click and select Paste).
Then you can have fun with all sorts of crazy symbols... like âª!!

If you have a numpad, you can hold the alt key, press 3, then release the alt key. Quick and easy.

Type in (& h e a r t s ;) without parenthesis and spaces, hearts with an and sign: & And a semicolon: ; on the ends. â¥

oh i usually just copy and past them from MS Word. you go to insert symbol, but im sure theres an easier way to do it.

hi
o.k. you will have to download a font for hearts. e.g.
http://simplythebest.net/fonts/holiday_fonts_2.html
and then add them to whatever progamme you are using
thats what i know
