Can cats and dogs communicate? I have two that grew tolerant of each other...I was wondering if they communicate on the same level? they play alot biting each other and it sort of scares me, like my dog will sometimes put my cats head in his mouth...lol. What are your thoughts

They don't communicate vocally, though body language goes a long way.

i think they do communicate on a different level. but it sounds like to me, you have spoiled them both enough for them to know you love them equally. animals are like kids, in alot of ways. but since you wrote "LOL" after "my dog will sometimes put my cats head in his mouth" i dont think you have anything to worry about i've had a cat and a dog that grew to tolerant of each other, and eventually they were always together. where the dog went, the cat went. they always played, and never had any problems. be sure to take pictures! it sounds cute!

i dont know how much they understand each other, but my dog and cat do the same. when cat meows, dog looks at her like huh? dog will "chew" cat cat smacks her with her paw, then bites dog ears. then when they both get tired they will lay next to each other. neither one of my pets is the brightest star in the sky so maybe i shouldnt have answered this question :)

They can communicate, through touch and sound. They may not always understand eachother, or what they do, but the communication is definitely there. For instance, a loud growl will let the other animal know that they are angry.

Yes they do communicate. Dogs and cats are not mortal enemies. They can develop strong bonds. They probably talk about us.

Yea. My dog gets too close to my cat, she gives a good ole slap on his muzzle with her paw. The problem is he doesn't listen to her. He is doofy enough to go back for more. Unless he thinks it's a game.

That's pretty natural, but they have not grown up knowing the true nature of their prey... they are domesticated.. hence you shud not worry much. You shud be careful.
I don't think they can communicate... they may communicate the way we do... through actions... I am not sure though!!

Animals communicate in their own way.

Definitely. My cats know which dogs they can sleep and eat with, and which ones to stay clear of.Watching them, you can see them sitting and "talking",eye to eye.It is quite amazing.

i would assume no, but it is possible. they are different species, but they may be able to pick up signs or warnings from eachother.
