New to you or new in general? I don't listen to what's trendy, as I would rather support independent artists, but if you're looking to branch out, look up:

The Elected (alternative)
Heather Waters (country)
Todd Herzog (rock/pop)
Mylin (rock/pop with a country twist)
Zachary Provost (jazz/easy listening)
Jimmy Reid (instrumental jazz)
Shoe Suede blues (blues/dance)

I bought some CD's last week. Some are not new, but they are to me. None are being played on the radio, they are not "commercial pushers".

Porcupine Tree - "In Absentia" - Progressive Rock
Donald Fagen - "Morph The Cat" - Jazz/Pop/Rock/Chillout
Victor Wooten - "Live in America" - Jazz/Funk/Jamband
Opeth - "Ghost Reveries" - Heavy Metal
Mahavishnu Orchestra - "The Lost Trident Sessions" - Jazz/Rock/Fusion
Miles Davis - "Bitches Brew" - Classic Jazz (with a Fusion flavor)

All excellent Music. Cosider these recommended.

Nope-you have to tell me what kinda music you like 1st. I personally like Mary J. Blige's new album, love anything by Anthony Hamilton, Ruben Studdard, Kirk Franklin's 'Imagine Me', and currently ALL the Xmas music they play on the radio-I can never get enough of that!

Try listening to John Mayer's new album 'Continuum". It contains really nice and slow tracks perfect for chilling-out after a very stressing day. You could never go wrong with John Mayer. =)

Sean Lennon---Friendly Fire. Yes, he is John Lennon's son if you didn't know and extremely talented in my opinion. I can't stop listening to this.
