Anytime there is a "police operation" there is the chance someone may get injured. They are there to prevent that but to be safe the ambulance should be at the site so medical care can be given immediately should someone be injured.....

(..."decorated" - WTF?!)
Are you trying to ask why ambulances attend police incidents?

If so, the reason that us paramedics attend violent situations, sieges, standoffs, assaults, fires, shootings, terrorist threats, riots, etc, etc, etc, is because someone might get hurt - not least of all our police and fire comrades.

Preservation of life takes precedence over everything.
