I'm not sure if this quote was from the movie, its from Brom to Eragon. During the scene where Eragon talks about his mother.
It sounded something like this:
"People seek what is in front of them. But it is the unknown that entices them."

Any help/correction would help!

I might be wrong, but I think you may have mistaken who says it. I don't think brom says it; but his Uncle Garrow.

In the scene where Eragon talks about his mother he is talking to his uncle Garrow, when his cousin has decided to leave. His Uncle Garrow is telling him why his cousin wants to leave and move on. Eragon says that he'd be happy living his life right here with his Uncle on the farm, but then his uncle responds with

"What every man seek is right under their nose. But for some the unknown is too hard to resist."

After that Eragon asks 'is that why his mother left.'

That's what I think you got that quote from, because it seems very similar, and Eragon does talk about his mother after it. I don't recall Brom saying that specificaly but I've only watched it once, so he might something like that too. :)
