heya ppl well heres my story......I dont have much exercising equipment, i have verry little actually. I have one 25 pound dumbbell, umm two 20 pounds ankle weights, and...well thats it. Are there any good exercises i can do that will help increase muscle in my arms?

OK thats part 1.

I also wanna know whats the best type of exercise for the abs. I say this because i do crunches and i expect to wake up the next morning in pain because if i wake up in pain at least i know i did it right. OK question is...Whats the best ab exercise that works?

I try to walk a certain amount everyday, and im still not losing weight. Question is....How many Calories would i burn if i walked...lets say 2 miles? and is 2 miles enough?

Let me see if I can take these in order...

1. You don't need a bunch of equipment. Old fashioned pushups, situps, and squats do just as well as gym equipment if you do it right. And there are a bunch of books and websites out there that can teach you the right form.

2. The best for abs are crunches, and a Pilates technique called the 100. Lie on the floor, and lift your upper and lower body, until you're resting on just your butt, and your body is at about a 90 degree angle. Put your arms horizontal to the floor, and pulse them up and down for a count of 100. You will feel it.

3. Two miles is great. Keep your back straight, abs in, head up, and swing your arms. Try to go fast enough that you could speak if you needed to, but only a sentence or two.

4. With a good healthy diet, walking, and muscle building, it's realistic to set a goal of 30 pounds in five months, especially if you're a good bit overweight to start with.

You can a hell of a lot of exercises that don't require any equipment. I could tell you ten types of pushups just off the top of my head, and a dozen types of squats that would turn you into a stud in practically no time.

As for abs, I don't like crunches; go for full-on situps, get your hip flexors into the game. The more of your body you use with a movement, the more calories you burn.

If you walked a ten-minute mile, and you did two of those per day, you'd probably burn about thirty or forty calories. That might be enough, I don't know what your goals are.

30 or 40 pounds in 5 months? There are many ways:

1. Take a machete and start hackin' off parts (my least favorite way -- but you can amuse your friends by imitating the black night from Monty Python and the Holy Grail).

2. Eat smaller meals, eat foods in as close to their natural state as you can get them, eat a little more frequently (you'll feel fuller, and you won't feel like gorging yourself).

3. Work out a lot. Get a pull-up bar and a jump rope, use one on Monday-Wednesday-Friday, the other on Tuesday-Thursday-Saturday, and rest on Sunday. With that plus a healthy pushup-and-squat routine, fat will begin to melt off of you like wax off a candle.
