I think this is what it was called...it was an animated film that came out in the late 70's or early 80's. I don't remember much other than it was about the little donkey that carried Mary to Bethleham and that his mother had died and became the voice in the star that guided the little donkey on...does anyone know who made this film, what it was called, and where I can find a copy?

I believe that's called "Small One"..i remember watching that in sunday school all the time. Check Amazon.com on vhs. Disney made it.

The Movie was called "The Small One" and was a Walt Disney Mini-Classics Cartoon. I actually have a copy of it on VHS Tape ... and I have not seen it on DVD.

it is called small one. it is about a little boy forced to sell his donkey named small one because he is too small to do the work.. he doesnt want to sell him to the tanner for his hide, however he may have no choice because his family needs the money. luckily a kind man approaches him and offers to buy him because his pregnant wife needs a way to travel to Bethlehem.
I absolutely love the story. Disney released it on volume 9 of the Walt Disney classic favorite line titled classic holiday stories. it was released on 9-27-05 and you can purchase it on DVD at suncoast.com for $11.99. thanks for reminding me of this story i once loved. i am going to buy it myself to share with my son. hope this helps. merry Christmas

Im trying to find it now. a wise-cracking donkey that eventually is purchased by Joseph. usually it is on tv here in Sydney every year- except this year. cant find it on youtube.
