High temperatures can cause your core tempurature to rise which is never good for the baby. you want your temp to stay around the same of 98.6. or whatever the normal is for you. warm baths and the such are ok, but hot baths, sauna's, hot tubs, anything that can severely raise or lower your core temperature is not recommended.

Here is the deal,
This is not a question if a pregnant woman should take a hot tub, we
know we should not! And we know about the temp of 100-101 being the
point where you should for sure not be there, and of course not more
then 10 minutes and etc.
The question here to you is:
My wife has already been in the hot tub; we knew she was pregnant, 5
weeks after conception! [7 weeks from period] and she went to the hot
tub twice when we were on vacation, one being like 101F and has been
there for 25 minutes at least.
She had a miscarriage 4 months ago [after having a healthy normal
pregnancy and delivering sweet little 1, 2 years ago without any
problems!]
Now she went to take u/s and she was told there is a little blood
clot, this happened after she went to the hot tub!!
She is not so concerned about that, since all the blood clot can do is
loosing a pregnancy is not going to throw her over, she his healthy,
so am I, will move on to the next!
What she is most worried, keeps her up at night, upset, and angry on
her self is: since she read on the internet about hurting the baby [by
taking damaging the development of the cord in hi temp.] and
especially between weeks 4-6
This is the little project for the researcher,
I know in Japan and lots of other countries woman take saunas and
steam rooms- [this is not as bad, as the body can sweat it out in
these places, or so I read] and there is places where woman take hot
tub with out any concerns [so I read on the internet]. I want you to
find me sources, perhaps in foreign language, [English would be even
better, but I couldn’t find in English] which talks about this
particular issue, and gives the point of view of those people who
don't take bat tub series! Or comforts after doing it..! and talks
about if you can find out if the baby was hurt ect. ect. all about it!
Also, are American doctors suggesting abortion in cases where the baby
might have been hurth with this kind of disorder/sickness?

Because sitting in really hot water, like a hot tub for more than 10 or 15 minutes can raise your body temperature causing harm to the baby. A hot bath is fine during pregnancy, as long as its not raising your body temp over 100. Usually if it turns your skin red, you shouldn't sit in it for more than 10 minutes.

I believe that in early pregnancy, prolonged exposure to hot tubs, hot baths or saunas can increase a woman's internal body temperature, causing hyperthermia (dangerously high internal body temp). If this happens, there is an increased risk of her baby having some type of birth defect. But I also understand that the occasional warm bath to ease muscle tension and just relax is OK, as long as the length of time the woman is exposed to very hot water is limited, maybe 10 minutes or so. To be sure, always ask your doctor!

Hot Hot of course is not good at anytime really. I am 36 wks along and I take a warm bath every night to help sooth my leg cramps before bedtime. I talked to my Ob and he said it was perfectly fine just to avoid Hot Hot water. It also soothes your tummy during dilation and contractions. Hope this helps and good luck!

because it warms up the body temperature and rases the babies temperature, its not healthy for a baby to have a high temperature. if you want a bath take it warm - mild (avoid mild - hot temperatures) to relax your aching muscles. merry christmas

Cuz it will over heat the baby... cuz it cant control its body temp. ur body does. ex: if ur too hot u sweat the baby cant so it cant lower its body temp... causing it to overheat.
Think of baby as an egg and the hot tub as a pan of boiling water.. get the point?

OK that was kinda early... when baby is more protected by mom. Im sure everything is fine... just dont do it anymore. Also I really dont think that can casue a clot!
I had a small blood clot at 9 weeks... even bled for a couple days and then it cleared up & it was gone by my 14 week US. Tell her not to stress my Dr says it happens alot. I am now 7 months.

because it raises your body temperature, which in turn raises your baby's body temperature...and that is not good for a prolonged period of time

It's not good, because your amniotic fluid can warm up, therefore also overheating the baby.....also, it can up your own blood pressure......hmmmmm i think that's right lol
