Does anyone know where I can get Marque De Sade's works in English?? Or if anyone has written a book about his life?? I googled it and couldn't find anything.
Thanks

I hate it when people give u answers like "try a local library"...isn't the whole point of Yahoo Answers to ask questions that someone on HERE might know?? Kinda hard to go to the library at 2 a.m.

Yeah, you'd definitely get more results if you spelt his name as it's generally spelt in your language. :)

There is a movie about his life, called Quills, which is partially fictionalized, and pretty freaky. I'm sure he has also been the subject of many biographies!

I think almost all his works are available (probably all, considering his notoriety); not all are available in the public domain though (which means you can't find them online for free).

You can find some online here, as well as a few biographies that are in the public domain--if you don't want to read them online, you could probably easily check for a print version: http://supervert.com/elibrary/marquis_de_sade

Aaaand here's a link to his books available on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/s/102-4166303-1099366?ie=UTF8&index=books&rank=-relevance%2C%2Bavailability%2C-daterank&field-author-exact=Marquis%20De%20Sade

If you want a book of his, but can't find it on Amazon (or you just want to buy it cheaper), try abebooks.com. You can usually find used copies of books that are out of print today. However, since De Sade didn't write in English originally, not ALL of his works may have been translated (I have this problem when searching for books by his "counterpart"--Masoch).

Working my approach by way of the atypical grammar and syntax, I do not suppose de Sade might impregnate La Duchesse de Camembert - he is lifeless, and to the first-rate of my advantage, no-one dwelling at present holds the identify. De Sade himself wasn't royalty, he used to be aristocracy. Mind you, I suppose you would have a factor - I might simply see La Muggleton-Camembert in a black leather-based catsuit, flicking Wills with a cat of 9 tails (while she has completed seeing to Andrew, Harry, Charles and potentially Camilla, that's...) Anne have got to be rather move to be eclipsed through a more youthful dominant madame, regardless that!

Try the Wikipedia page? See the link below.

It's got a "His works online" section at the end.

Or just Google "Marquis de Sade".

Hope this helps.

Library is one of course, but go to www.history.com.
I believe most of his works was destroyed by the church while he was incarcerated, for he was a hideous man and his writings were of perverted gore.

In English, the spelling is "Marquis", not as you wrote it in your question. Google on that gives about 500,000 results
