okay here's the deal, I was put on academic probation last semester and was stupid and retook the classes that I failed this semester and well failed them again and now I'm on academic suspension, here's my question, they told me I have to sit out one semester, can i just go and enroll in a community college for this semester, because I don't want to sit out a semester and I just changed my major to something I like more, or am I like banned from every college?

Bravo! That's the spirit! yeah, girl -- pick yourself up, dust yourself off and start all over again. It will reflect very very well indeed on your record if you spend the semester at a community college. Take classes that turn you on and really demonstrate to others that you CAN do college. The credits will transfer, so its not wasted time. Again, well done!

Oh, -- yes, you can enroll in any community college, even if it is part of the same state system. CCs exist to even out the playing field so to speak -- to give as many people a chance as possible.

I don't see why you would be banned from a community college unless it is in the same system (like a city or state system) as the university you're on suspension from.

It'd probably be a smart move for you to try and gain some ground on the last two semesters you haven't been able to accrue any credits. It seems like you kind of want to start over, and maybe going to somewhere a little less difficult to try and figure out a major and focus your studies might be a good idea.

Just keep in mind, too, that not everyone uses the major that they graduate with, so you might not need to be that concerned with choosing a major, unless it's a very specific one that requires a set, scheduled plan to graduate (like engineering, pharmacy, or pre-med... just for examples) if you're not sure, maybe you should look at a liberal arts major... Just what I think.

By the way, it wouldn't hurt one bit for you to call the school you are thinking of going to and asking them what their policy is on students on academic suspension from whatever school it was you got suspended... Call up the admissions office at the new school - they'll be happy to help you if you might be spending your dollars at THEIR school instead of another!
