How does sexuality have anything to do with being a crutch?
If anything, I'd say our being gay made us NEED crutches after the homophobes realized we were gay.
Being gay, or even fetishes, which in truth shouldn't go here but people equate gay with freaky sexual fetishes, isn't a crutch. It's casting off the crutches of closetedness and proclaiming we ARE who we ARE.

My crutch use to be pills. I was a big pill popper I could take 4 or 5 oyxs without even flinching. Now I've calmed down some but everyone's got their bad habits, mine luckily (at least that one) is gone.

But really, I think my crutch is being a loner. I have good friends but I really cherish my alone time. Does that qualify as a crutch?
