Obviously, diplomacy is the first step. Given how scared many of the Mid East countries are of Iran, this could be an excellent opportunity for us to score some popularity points in the region.

We've already offered Iran nuclear power tech and Ahmadinejad turned it down. So, next, we organize a Mid East summit and invite some countries in the region - Iraq, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, Lebanon and Jordan. At the meeting, we all talk about what should be done to counter Iran. Don't invite Syria (they are in cahoots with Iran) and don't invite Israel (it would only complicate things further. this is hard enough without having to try to get the Israelis and Arabs to play nice, too).

If we can't get Iran to give up their nuke program by allying with other Mid East nations to put pressure on Iran, then we may have to bomb their nuke facilities. Let's hope it doesn't come to that.

The nuclear facilities can be bombed. They will be rebuilt in a few years if the technical know how remains. A nuclear program needs nuclear scientists. The least expensive option is to hire all of the available Iranian scientific talent for projects outside of Iran (cancer treatments use many of the same talents). Of course, most of the key scientists are not free to leave and might need special assistance to get out of Iran. The estimated cost of 100 million dollars is a lot less than the cost of a war. The next best option would be to target the nuclear scientists and the nuclear facilities.

I am concerned about Russia and their sale of arms to Iran.

I think with the way Ahminejad (sp) goes on, he must already have nuclear capabilities, or be close.

I think he is hoping either Israel or the US will strike first, so he can gain world sympathy.

Iran is a quandary.

Iran is a tricky situation. I'm not sure exactly how to think of Iran. I think if we want to secure Iraq we do NEED to talk to it's neighboors. I think we should ask for their help.. but DO NOT admit fault. Just ask for some assistance. If they try to bargain or ask for something in return the pull away the offer. We want them to VOLUNTEER. If they turn us down it will make them look bad. If they join in then we have possible negotiation options with them. Maybe be able to sneak a foot in the door called the Middle East.

I'm really, frankly, quite uneducated on Iran, though. This is just my opinion. I'm open to constructive criticism, though.

Very carefully. We do not need to be fighting another war. But at the same time we do not want Iran to have nukes. We need to be firm but not be bullies.

Well, hopefully it won't take 142 UN resolutions before something gets done.

We have to take out any nuke capability they are seeking. I also think we need to have Ahmenijad visit Dachau and apologize for being a Holocaust doubter.

The US should hit their nuclear facilities. Talking will not do any good. This is the only thing that they MIGHT understand. No reconstruction would be required.

While I beleive we were mistaen to invade Iraq, I stillsupport our troops, I think we need to get out, and if I knew how, I'd run for office.

A well placed nuke. Is that what your hoping for? Asking this question without a Democrat as the president is a fruitless pusuit of knowledge.
