I'm 43. I love the 1940s music and the 50s and 60s and 70s and 80s and 90s. It's all good.

The U.S. music performer strike in the early 80s pretty much not only killed their fire in the biz, but it made major labels bring over to our shores the "hot" UK sounds that became "80s music".

Some offerings by Midnight Oil, Men At Work, Spandau Ballet, Missing Persons, Duran Duran and INXS were pretty darn good. The 80s finally gave The Tubes a solid one good hit ( "She's A Beauty ). And there were PLENTIFUL one hit wonders too from bands like M, Big Country, Eddy Grant and Madhouse....and who can forget ( if they haven't till now) Men Without Hats ( "Safety Dance").

The 80s were OK; great even---when compared by Rap, alternative and it's evolving trash we have to put up with now.

Hell yeah I love the 80s. New Wave and Punk, the real punk, none of this fake wanna-be punks today. I got some great 80s music I've burned to cd....Bananarama 'Cruel Summer', Flock of Seagulls 'I ran', Thompson Twins "Hold Me Now", Toto "Africa".....yeah way too many to list!

Agreed. 80's music = awesome. New Wave, 80's metal, better pop in general, MTV with actual videos... that were good.
