I am unable to find a 'clone mac address type feature in GUI interface the cisco pix 501 and figure I may just be missing something. Maybe it needs to be entered in cisco pig-latin. In any case I am hoping it does have the ability to clone another device's mac address so I can use it in place of an inferior device. Thanks!

Not sure if you'll have a way to override the burned-in MAC address using the GUI. You might need to use the command line interface to enter interface configuration mode, such as with the command "interface fastethernet0/0" which changes your "config" prompt to a "config-if" prompt, and then use the "mac-address" command... Per the documentation the mac-address is entered in Hex format, the H.H.H format, where H is a 16-bit hexadecimal digit. For example, the MAC address 00-0C-F1-AA-39-C2 would be entered as 000C.F1AA.39C2. When in doubt, just go to cisco.com and do a search on "configuring pix x.y" where x.y is your version number such as 6.2. Example link below.
