Emergency supplies for my car: Jumper cables, blanket, tire pump. I didn't even ask for them. Lame.

Well, there was nothing I could actually call "the worst". But the most disappointing, I suppose, was when I was 12 or so, the year I got a typewriter, some clothes and no fun and games stuff. By the time I opened the last gift and realized I was in this new stage of life, I am not sure that my face didn't give me away. I hope not.
And then there was my husband's aunt, who wrapped a box of TISSUES and shipped them across the country to us.
And the year my son was 9 and got me a US ARMY surplus "trenching tool" -- "for my garden".
Hard to call this stuff the worst, as they are such fond memories

i got the same damn "gift" every year. my mother would go holiday berserk, get all stressed out running around cooking, cleaning, baking, decorating and shopping and then she'd be yelling, screaming and handing out all kinds of nasty guilt trips.
don't get me wrong. i liked Christmas trees, Santa and the presents and caroling in front the nativity scene as much as any kid but by the time my mom wore herself and everyone in the family ragged with the preparations you begin to wonder if the new doll was worth it.

A book from my friend. I already had the same exact one (which I forgot to read) but I read it anyways. It was very depressing and boring at the same time.

I was molested by santa at a mall, does that count as a bad gift.
