What Steve Yzerman thing? Got a link or something?

Thanks for the clarification LOL! I was wondering if he got arrested for like being a serial killer or something hehe! Good for him - Yzerman is not only a phenomenal player, but he's a gentleman and a really nice guy. Kudos to him and Yeah! It's a big deal! It's basically like the Lifetime Achievement Award for the Oscars or something. Oh yeah - when my husband and I played EA Sports NHL, I always had Yzerman on my team ;)

Are you kidding. Steve Yzerman is up there in the Mario Lemieux, Wayne Gretzky echelon.

I thought he was youngest ever captain in NHL history?

692 goals. That's a shame he didn't make 700. If I were him I would have played one more year to get 700. Mario should have too but he had a heart condition so that's understandle. Still it's a shame in both cases. 692 goals and 690 goals.

Yzerman is arguably the second most important member of the Red Wings ever to wear the jersey, the first being Gordie Howe.

It's huge and well-deserved beyond words.

Not a Red Wings fan myself but I have a lot of respect for Steve Yzerman. I wish I could go just to be part of the celebration. It's not just hugh for Detroit but for a lot of hockey fans. Steve Yzerman was a true professional and a class act. with the exception of Joe Sakic he may me be the last player you see retire with the team that drafted him.

Yzerman was not only one of the best all around hockey players of all time, he was one of the nicest people I have ever met.

Did you know the only time he would charge money for autographs is to donate it to charity?
