We've been trying to work this out. Would it be the perfect crime if you stabbed someone with an icicle? No fingerprints or dna, no trace of weapon. Is it even possible. Would the icicle just break or melt too fast?

Clubbing them over the head with a big one might work better than stabbing.

An old Alfred Hitchcock short had a woman bludgeon her husband to death with a frozen leg of lamb which she cooked and served to the cops looking for the murder weapon.

The Mythbusters (Discovery channel) tested this supposed urban myth and concluded that it is plausible (given the "right" conditions). They dropped an icicle from a second-story balcony (about 12 feet) on to a slab of beef and it penetrated about 3 inches...enough to slip between two ribs and pierce the heart.

i saw this one on mythbusters. lol

you can kill someone with an icicle.

i think a better way to kill that involves ice is to place a noose around someones neck and have them stand on a block of ice. as the ice melts the noose will get tighter and tighter. eventually, the ice will melt completely and viola!

there would be water in the wound, which would be a dead giveaway, no pun intended, plus the shape of the wound would also indicate an icicle... on CSI they killed a guy using a bullet made of frozen meat... i thought that was pretty ingenious... guy got caught though, because grissom is a supercop.

I'm sure you could. Nothing is impossible. It would have to be very thick & strong though.
