I am an American, my husband is Canadian. I'd like to keep my options open for teaching since we'll probably jump between living in the States and Canada. Rightnow I'm in the research stage for becoming a teacher and trying to decide where to start the education to become one. Would I be able to teach in the States if I got a Canadian teaching degree or vice versa?

you would get your degree in education, then you take a certification test,,,,,, i would imagine that you would then just take the test for the other country,,,,,contact a couple of colleges or universities, in both countries, that offer education degrees, and ask them

I know in my college, which was in the United States (northern NY), many of the education students were Canadian. We were close enough to the Canadian border to attract Canadian students, and as I said there were a lot of Canadian students majoring in education in my school. So, it can be done, but I do not know the details. My guess is it has something to do with passing some certification exams. My best advice would be to contact a University's education department that you are thinking about going to and talking to them about it. You could also talk to various school districts about it. I'm sure they would have at least some answers for you. Good luck!

Education is controlled by the provinces in Canada. You will need to check with the specific province as to the requirements for ceritfication.

Many of the private schools have different requirements than the public school system so that would give you additional options. I recomment you Google the various provincial jurisdictions.

A B.Ed. and M.Ed. would be a great starting point. Science degrees also hold high value.

ask your self various questions: For one, is having a physically powerful earnings significant to you? If specific, scrap the instructor theory. frequently, instructors are not getting the earnings they deserve. yet another ingredient, previous being good at Math, are you obsessed on coaching? instructors do multiple projects previous than what they are being paid for. you have already suggested which you have an activity in housing and assets company so i will't see why you will no longer decide on it. once you're curious or have some little bit of liking for Math, why no longer discover ways to be a area-time college instructor? it relatively is in simple terms my opinion so of direction, you relatively ought to think of this thoroughly, based on your individual own alternatives.

Sure it's possible, you'll just have to take state certification courses in both countries; just like you'd have to do if you wanted to teach in two different states in the US. Not a big deal, lots of people do it.
