The show is deep, very deep. It is 21st century entertainment. For people who like the plot spelled out for them in the first 10 minutes, well...they not likely to like BSG. I host a fan site at BSGspot.com which debuts in 2007 and my initial members are not your usual sci-fi fans. They are profesionals who love a great mystery/drama that makes them think about the world they live in. And for the future young people who enjoy BSG, well it warms my heart to see our young culture taking time out from the spoon fed entertainopia to engage in a little thought in reasoning from this new type of show.

I love the show also, and I believe it is getting its props. As more fans are discovering it and how it is more intelligent and edgy than the original. Even Schrut (from the Office TV show has been blogging at SCIFI.com)
Just like all new shows, some catch on quickly and others take time. It is getting more popular everyday though. I hate the fact that the seasons are so short, I'm glad it is picking right away in January.

Because it's a sci fi show (a lot of mainstream viewers won't watch it because of the genre)
Because it's not a network show (it's on cable, and on sci fi)
And a subset of sci fi fans of the original series don't like the changes in the new series.
Shame too.. it's one of the best written series out there. It's garnered critical awards since it came out (AFI, Peabody, Hugo) and is still going strong. Sad that more people don't know about it, and that the Emmys will likely never acknowledge it's acting and writing because they consider sci fi a lower quality than other mainstream genres.

for one thing>>>>> ITS' Confusing !!!! and it will NEVER replace the original show with Lorne Greene [Commander Adama]Richard Hatch[Lt. Apollo] and Dirk Benedict [Lt. Starbuck]
i used to always watch the original show when i was in high school and Richard Hatch was my favourite ...
and for goodness sakes.. "starbuck" is played by a woman !! and also "Lt. Boomer" is played by a woman.. i dont mind the fact that woman are portraying the characters, but when you're used to seeing men in the original roles.. its kinda weird .. just my opinion ''FRAKKKK!"

some people stereotype about the sci-fi genre... if they actually watch and understand the show, some of their perspective would change.
