Maybe because, he is much taller than those other favorite players yet did not satisfy thier expectations. Larry Bird, though he was white has exceeded best expectations from the crowd while doing his best in the court. Not to like Yao because "he is Chinese" is a superficial reason. People enjoyed much on the best performance of a player in the court rather than go with racial discriminations.

No, its because he is over rated Yao ming is not as good as everybody makes him to me he sucks he's one of the tallest players in the NBA and he's not even the leading scorer on his team. He gets man handeled by all the post on the opposing teams they need to lock him in a weight room so that he can get stronger.

People dislike Yao Ming for several reasons. Above the rest:
- They are jealous and wish they were that tall.
- He is SO BORING!!!! He never dunks.
- Previous to this season, he has always been a weak player.
- He had his shot blocked by 5'8" Nate Robinson.
- He beats their favorite teams.

i dont think people hate yao they just hate his game, i hate his game because he is too soft, for a guy his hight he should play stronger and be more dominate, this season he is finally starting to do that. once he becomes dominate center people will start respecting him

people used to hate him cause he was a pansy in the post and was wasting his height...he had no power and was no real scoring threat...
but this season he has proven to be a dominating player, has developed and now hes gettin some respect

probably cause he doesnt use his height for dunks nd fun stuff. hes to technical he should use his advantage for some fun as well not only small jumpshots in the key

They think he's soft for a big guy his size. If the Rockets give him better teammates, they'll see what he can really do.

Maybe because many people think he didn't deserve to go to the NBA, they think its just because of his height.
